Tourism to see gringo

A wealth untapped, barely shown or unknown to us Brazilians and to the world. If tourism is an activity of exploration charms and natural beauty, among other good reasons, we need to know and generate foreign exchange with the environment we have. Of course we are talking about a great natural wealth that God gave us and already present in a previous post. We are referring to the National Forest Tapirapé-Aquiri, Itacaiúnas and Biological Reserve Tapirapé-Aquiri.

Unsurpassed beauty of the region, also rich in its subsoil and operated by mining giant Vale, which exported to the world. The city of Maraba is home to the Salobo copper project. Copper is one of the most used metals in today's world, behind iron and aluminum, widely used in power generation and transmission, wiring and virtually all electronic equipment - such as television and the cell phone.

Salobo Copper Project in Forest Tapirapé-Aquiri
Although the company contributes with actions to preserve the environment, it is also causing havoc in extractive activities copper (with the significant presence of gold), with the removal of native forest, unfortunately and despite the pollution with chemical spill . Moreover, this region is favorable for tourism and research activities.

The Environmental Protection Area Igarapé Ice Cream, Tapirapé-Aquiri, and Biological Reserve Tapirapé-Aquiri, located in the municipalities of Maraba, Parauapebas and São Félix do Xingu, they are considered as protected areas. These stunning scenery, this world of natural wealth is known by a few people basically by researchers so far and this reality and that can change.

In Parauapebas, distant 160 km from Maraba city, we find the Carajás National Forest, which borders the National Forest Tapirapé-Aquiri. It is a great adventure and we know a little of Forest Tapirapé-Aquiri. Our gateway is the Serra dos Carajás, in the municipality of Parauapebas, we started our trip. We begin with a 40 minute truck through narrow roads (vicinal calls) until you reach the Itacaiúnas river. Visitors arriving at the river Itacaiúnas will feel dazzled by the beautiful scenery, a great and powerful river, (is the nature with its imposing natural force) everything perfect without damage or pollution, a sanctuary, an unknown world. Our tour follows the course of the river in a boat, aluminum boat with outboard motor.

Boat went up the river course and here we see the magnitude of the intact river, a margin have the Carajás Forest and the other to Tapirapé-Aquiri forest and on the one hand the city of Marabá and other Parauapebas. In this true sanctuary have the exuberance of a great river where fishing is prohibited, we found cavorting fish in an effusive greeting. Followed by a now raging river that requires the pilot audacity to win the currents and some large stones in your bed. The boat jumps raising the adrenaline, it sounds like a radical sport so much emotion. From July to November we have the summer season when the river low and leaves the most visible stones. Wow!

Castanheira (Bertholletia excelsa)
We continue our travel knowledge, I hope that the images are constructed in the mind of every reader. We are in a deep green frame, on both sides of large trees, axixás, chestnut, cedar, mahogany, some 30 other 40 and 50 meters high, preferred by parrots and macaws. It is possible to see the passage of which the sky, in fact, the inspiration for the animated 3D film, Rio, was precisely the large blue macaw, beautiful bird Amazon. Our trip is led by researchers from the Chico Mendes Institute for Conservation Bio (ICMBIO), responsible for environmental management and has identified over 380 units blue macaw and several nests in the forest.

Our expedition did not dock at any place, we have set the target and we will contribute on a base. Followed winning the river upstream. We are coming in a big house built by Vale (by then Companhia Vale do Rio Doce - CVRD years ago) for its mining activities. This house now belongs to ICMBio that took almost possession of housing and this magnificent nature. The house now serves as the basis for monitoring activities and research and will serve to support tourism, or for public use. Certainly a luxury!

We believe this is very promising location for tourism. We need to take ownership for public use before it is transformed into raw material for great nations of the world, leaving holes for eternity. Mining activity is predatory in nature and already have in Tapirapé-Aquiri Copper Solobo Project, the largest in Brazil in copper mining, are the machines occupying the world's natural spaces leaving destruction as a mark of human presence at the cost of some royalties as compensation, nature and the world are, of course, decompensated with respect to the environment.

Let's finish our text, we call attention to the maintenance of this unique beauty, still very unspoilt, many trees and animals, a beautiful river, to put all this in a sightseeing tour even for gringo see, excuse the hackneyed expression, but I know who understand us, it's just a common way to refer to people of other nations. We hope to make the occupation without causing destruction, intended to tourism these huge areas, home to animals and trees in full Amazon and promote tourism to see gringo.
